Proudly projected on 35mm film | The lure of sudden wealth upends the quiet rural lives of two brothers when they discover over four million dollars in cash at a remote airplane crash site. Their simple plan to collect the money while avoiding detection by the law opens a Pandora’s Box when their fear and paranoia result in dire consequences.

“Idiots try out crime, and things going horribly awry” is a genre unto itself – one the Coen Brothers elevated to an artform. Based on the novel by Scott Smith, adapted to the big screen by Smith himself, and directed by the Evil Dead trilogy’s Sam Raimi, A Simple Plan belongs with the best and bleakest of the Coens’ crime capers. “Sometimes good people do evil things,” goes the tagline, and after watching what Bill Paxton, Billy Bob Thornton, and Bridget Fonda do for that four million in this blood-soaked noir tale of greed and desperation, you won’t disagree.
