Mid-Century Modern Jazz Quartet

Sunday, June 30 @ 7pm

The Mid-Century Modern Jazz Quartet plays straight-ahead jazz from the period know in design circles as mid-century modern, roughly the 1940’s through 60’s. Their repertoire includes tunes from Miles, Monk, Mingus, Gershwin, Golson, Porter, Shorter, Silver, Rollins, Jobim, and Ellington, to name just a few. Swing, Latin, hard bop, bossa novas, exotica, even movie and TV themes are all on the menu, and the result is cool, tasty and swinging.

Chuck Dye plays 7-string guitar, Bruce Goldman is on upright bass, Steve Gates is the drummer, and Al Biles plays flugelhorn & trumpet. They have played together in overlapping groups for many years, but this quartet is special!
