On February 2, 2023, Flaco — a male Eurasian eagle-owl, the largest species of owl in the world — was discovered missing from his cage at the Central Park Zoo in Manhattan. What follows when Flaco, who had lived his entire life in captivity, was released in New York City is a surprising story revealing the delight, concern, and fascination of millions in the city and beyond.
From filmmaker Penny Lane (Nuts!, Hail Satan?). There will be a filmmaker Q&A with Penny Lane following each screening.

Braddock Bay Bird Observatory is dedicated to ornithological research, education and conservation. Each year, we band and release thousands of songbirds in an effort to document and understand how they behave during migration. The research we do on avian physiology, ecology and behavior provides scientific evidence needed to guide effective conservation action. Our research facility is located on the south shore of Lake Ontario just west of Rochester, and we are open to the public every morning during spring and fall migration.
