Two women, one from America (Cameron Diaz) and one from Britain (Kate Winslet), swap homes at Christmastime after bad breakups with their boyfriends. Each woman finds romance with a local man (Jude Law and Jack Black) but realizes that the imminent return home may end the relationship.
Bright, bouncy, directed with Nancy Meyers’ usual flair (and stunning kitchens), and with a charming, attractive cast, The Holiday excels as both a familiar romantic-comedy and also a more mature rumination on what we want our of relationships, Christmas, and self-care. (Everyone is swoon-worthy, but Jack Black singing movie scores down a video store aisle can’t help but make movie fans’ hearts skip a beat, just a bit.)
Rated PG-13 | 2 hr 16 mins | Romance, Comedy | 2006
USA | English
Directed by Nancy Meyers
What is a Little Craft Night?
Come enjoy this fun hang-out-and-craft screening! The auditorium lights will be left on throughout this screening, so you can craft during the film! Bring your own crafting projects, or purchase a kit on-site from our screening partner Little Button Craft. Concessions will be available for sale, including beer and wine. Think of it as a big living room craft-and-watch (but as at any screening: please clean up after yourself, and be respectful of those around you!)
We also offer a “Traditional Screening” of any film shown at our craft nights, at a separate date/time. At the traditional screening, the auditorium lights are out. You’re watching a movie in a theater. No one is knitting, but you still enjoy the film. You get the idea.
