The “true story” of the meteoric rise & catastrophic demise of the world’s first smartphone, BLACKBERRY is a whirlwind ride through a ruthlessly competitive Silicon Valley at breakneck speeds.
With intelligence as sharp as its humor, and anchored by strong performances from Glenn Howerton
(“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) and Jay Baruchel
(This is the End, How to Train Your Dragon), BlackBerry takes a terrifically entertaining look at a generation-defining gadget.
Rated R | 2 hours | Drama | 2023

About the Presentation
“From Blackberry to ChatGPT: Why Is Tech so Addictive?”
We’ve been here before. From constantly checking our phones to sharing our most intimate thoughts with chatbots. Why does that device in our pocket seem to take over our lives? And what can we do about it?
Presentation by
Wendy Norris, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Social Computing, Nazareth University
Wendy Norris has had a wildly eclectic career path which informs her current role as an Assistant Professor of Social Computing at Nazareth University. She is the Director of the Ethical Data Science and the Tech, AI & Society undergraduate programs. Wendy also leads the crtl+R Lab, a nod to the keystroke that refreshes a web page. She and her students investigate how people use social media to help others during a humanitarian crisis. Prior to joining Naz in 2020, she enjoyed careers as a social worker, investigative journalist, and tech founder. Wendy left the private sector, joined the Peace Corps, and then earned a Ph.D. in Information Science at the University of Colorado, specializing in Crisis Informatics.
