Now in its fourth year, The Little Poetry Series offers poetry evenings at the cafe:

SPRING: Apr. 13 with Tony Leuzzi

SUMMER: Jun. 29 with Anderson Allen

FALL: Sept. 21 with Just Poets

The “Little” Poetry Series was born as a book launch in the winter of 2021. We were returning to public spaces after long months of dreary isolation for the Covid pandemic, coming out cautiously, but longing to be in-person once again for the experience of live poetry. We met at the Little Theater Café to celebrate the publication of a beautiful book, MOVING IMAGES: Poetry Inspired by Film, published right here in Rochester by Before Your Quiet Eyes Publishing. At that joyous reading, we discovered what a warm venue the Little Café is for poetry. We have four-events planned  for 2025. The “Little” Poetry Series offers poets and lovers of poetry a regular space to share their work and be heard.

David Delaney and Bart White host the series in partnership with bookseller Ken Kelbaugh of Before Your Quiet Eyes, 439 Monroe Avenue, Rochester, NY.

Featured readers will be joined by several guest poets from our rich poetry community of Western New York. Readings begin at 5:30 with a music introduction (our house musician is jazz trumpet player Mike Kaupa). Wonderful poetry follows. For questions regarding upcoming programs, please email Bart White at barttwhite@gmail.com.
