Come join us for a special evening with legendary guitarist and composer Marc Ribot as he performs a live solo guitar score for Charlie Chaplin’s classic silent film, The Kid. “Commissioned and premiered in Jan 2010 by the NY Guitar Festival at Merkin Hall. Marc Ribot’s delicate and at times haunting solo guitar score contemporizes this classic Chaplin film to a story relevant to the economic and social conditions following the housing market crash of 2008 (which occurred shortly before the commissioning of this work)”. Marc has performed and recorded with Tom Waits, Wilson Pickett, Caetano Veloso, Arto Lindsay, McCoy Tyner and many more. Get ready to be enchanted by Ribot’s moving interpretation of this iconic movie.
