Darryl Parker

Jazz Quartet :

Saturday, Jan. 17

The Darryl Parker Quartet, led by jazz vocalist Darryl Parker, delivers performances that are both timeless and fresh. Darryl’s smooth, soulful tone and captivating stage presence create a musical experience that connects authentically with audiences, carrying forward the spirit of jazz while adding his own modern flair.

Growing up in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Darryl was surrounded by music from both parents, though in different ways. His mother passed on lessons in discipline through piano, but what stayed with him was the spirit his father gave — records, rhythm, and a love of jazz. His father placed a saxophone in his hands and showed him that jazz was more than notes on a page; it was a way of hearing life. Inspired by that gift, Darryl found his own voice and turned music into a lifelong journey of storytelling.

With The Darryl Parker Quartet, that storytelling expands into a shared experience — blending vocals, instrumentation, and emotion into a seamless flow of sound. Beyond his vocals, Darryl is a songwriter and tenor saxophonist, with artistry that extends off stage into visual art, astrophotography, road-racing, and golf. He studied mechanical engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology, sharpening the same precision and creativity that flow through his music.

For The Darryl Parker Quartet, music isn’t just entertainment — it’s an invitation to share emotions, inspire joy, and create unforgettable moments.
