Jessica Ann Best is on a mission to make the incredible art form of opera accessible to everyone. She believes that every heart, every nation and every life can be transformed by its amazing power. Jessica captivates an audience from the moment she steps on stage with a voice that is powerful, warm, clear and vivacious. Jessica performed Flora in La Traviata with Nickel City Opera this May and in August is headed to perform with the Savannah VOICE Festival. Many of you may remember Jessica’s solo performance at our donor recital at the Rochester Academy of Medicine a few years back.
Jessica holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Nazareth College. She is a member of AGMA and studies with renowned bass-baritone Mark Schnaible.
Boris Van Druff is a native of Olean, NY and a lifelong Southern Tier resident. He completed his undergraduate studies at SUNY Fredonia, where he performed the roles of Rodolfo in La Bohème and Tamino in The Magic Flute. He completed his Master’s Degree in vocal performance at the University of Tennessee. Professional credits include Laertes in Ambroise Thomas’ Hamlet with Opera Ithaca; Gastone in La Traviata, Benvolio in Romeo et Juliette, and Trin in La Fanciulla del West with Knoxville Opera; the title role in Judas Maccabaeus with Rochester Oratorio Society, and Haydn’s Theresienmesse and Bach’s Cantata No. 80 with the Western New York Chamber Orchestra. He teaches voice on the faculty of Alfred University and joined Sarasota Opera as a young artist for the 2018-2019 winter season. Boris was a third-place winner of the 2018 Rochester International Vocal Competition.
