An Informal, cabaret-style evening, with popular opera arias and musical theatre hits, in collaboration with the Opera Guild of Rochester. This casual live performance is perfect those seeking to learn about opera, as well as die-hard fans.
About the April 23 performers:
Rochester native Yvonne Trobe won the Renée Fleming Endowment Scholarship, the William and Jocelyn Macy Sloan Scholarship, and the Daniel R. Mandelker & Marlene N. Harris Award. She joins us between her engagements at the Sarasota Opera Winter Festival and The Ohio Light Opera where she will perform the roles of The Witch in Into the Woods and Kate in Pirates of Penzance this summer. Yvonne, a soprano, graduated from Eastman School of Music with her Master of Music in vocal performance and literature in 2017 and received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Bachelor of Arts in Theater from the Crane School of Music at the State University of New York at Potsdam in 2015.
Our Bravo Nights baritone is Aaron Bigeleisen, a graduate of the Eastman School of Music. His majors are Vocal Performance, an independent research degree, a German minor, and a movement focus. At Eastman, he participated in a Master Class with Renée Fleming, where she complimented his beautiful vibrato. Aaron was selected as one of twenty U.S. Presidential Scholars out of 10,000 applicants. He also won first place out of 650 singers in Classical Singer Magazine's Vocal Competition.
Aaron is currently enrolled in the elite Philadelphia School of Alexander Technique, working towards his teacher certification. Most recently, Aaron participated in the prestigious Emmanuel Music Bach Institute. In 2018, Aaron joined Hobart and William Smith Colleges as Applied Music Instructor for Voice.
