Nicolas Cage mania, it’s a real thing. We swear. Sure, he has award-winning work, but the name “Nic Cage” evokes those bonkers roles of his. Whether he’s swapping faces or transforming into a vampire, Cage always delivers the goods.

Cage plays himself in the new film, “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent,” slated to open April 22 at The Little. To celebrate, we’re showcasing other “Cage Classics” during April.

“I’d like to take his face … off.”

All you really need to know is that Nic Cage and John Travolta swap faces in John Woo’s off-the-wall, zany 1997 action picture. 

But if you really want more plot description, here you go: Obsessed with bringing terrorist Castor Troy (Nicolas Cage) to justice, FBI agent Sean Archer (John Travolta) tracks down Troy, who has boarded a plane in Los Angeles. After the plane crashes and Troy is severely injured, possibly dead, Archer undergoes surgery to remove his face and replace it with Troy’s. As Archer tries to use his disguise to elicit information about a bomb from Troy’s brother, Troy awakes from a coma and forces the doctor who performed the surgery to give him Archer’s face. Yes, this is all as amazing as it sounds.
