Aaron DeRuyter : Saturday, April 25

Rochester, NY singer-songwriter Aaron DeRuyter expands the boundaries of Americana music by combining acoustic and electronic elements. His music has been described as a curveball of tunes that meanders inconsistently through the boundaries of genre and space. As DeRuyter prepares to record his 10th album you can catch him performing with his band, The Confluence (Ryan Williamson – drums, Scott Janas – bass, Chris Stephens – guitar and violin, Brad Delano – mandolin and banjo).

“[Aaron] DeRuyter writes haunting soliloquies like Townes Van Zandt and sings with a spiritual expansiveness similar to Iron & Wine. Feathery guitar arrangements are complemented by dense electronic overtones, modal vocal melodies, and off-kilter lyrics about life and death. DeRuyter delivers an ambient blend of folk, grunge, psychedelic rock, and alternative country.” – Katie Halligan, CITY Magazine
