Crysta (Samantha Mathis) is a fairy who lives in FernGully, a rainforest in Australia, and has never seen a human before. But when a logging company comes near the rainforest, she accidentally shrinks one of them: a boy named Zak. Now her size, Zak sees the damage that the company does, as well an evil entity named Hexxus (Tim Curry), who feeds off pollution. Featuring music performed by Sheena Easton, Raffi, and Tone-Loc… and of course Robin Williams’ Batty.

The American Genre Film Archive says: Way before AVATAR, there was this Don Bluth-esque animated musical rainforest romp starring the voices of Christian Slater, Samantha Mathis, Tim Curry, Robin Williams, Cheech & Chong, Harry Shearer, Tone-Loc, Pamela Adlon and even David Lynch fave Grace Zabriskie!! This is definitely one of the most Nineties movies of all time, featuring cassette players, mullets and enough queer-coding for a dozen BIRDCAGEs.
