Archimedes is the musical project of Tony Gill, a Rochester songwriter with a penchant for expressing both beauty and pain, longing and belonging, with a distinct voice. Blending elements of Indie, Folk, and Cosmic Country, Archimedes’ songs move between the experimental sensibilities of Indie/Psychedelic and the larger, lonesome sounds of Country and American Folk music. Archimedes has shared stages with Ryan Montbleau, Mikaela Davis, and Wye Oak – each performance marked by a balance between vulnerability and the joy of shared experience. For this October residency, Archimedes will be joined by a rotating cast of Rochester musicians, showcasing various unique and seldom-heard talents and creating a space for rare connections and new sounds, celebrating collaboration and the healing power of song.
