The Little FAQ
How do I buy a ticket?
- Online: To purchase a ticket, go to any film or event’s page and click the red “BUY TICKETS” button. Click on the actual showtime (i.e. 7:00pm) you’d like to attend. Next, select the quantity and type of tickets you’d like and add them to your cart.
- You can also browse all the film/events with ticketing on the ticketing overview page, organized by film, or in a calendar view, by date.
- In-Person at the Box Office: A box office is available in each of our two buildings. The box office opens 30 minutes before the first showtime each day.
- In-Person at the Business Office: Open Monday-Friday, 10am-5pm, directly to the right of Theatre 1. See details.
You have 2 buildings? How far apart are they?
Yes, Little 1 is its own building, and Little 2-5 is a completely separate building!
- Little Theatre 1 is located at 240 East Ave. The entrance doors are on East Ave, under our iconic “zig-zag” neon marquee. It contains a box office, concession stand, bathrooms, and Theatre 1.
- Little Theatre 2-5 is located at 8 Winthrop Street, directly behind Little Theatre 1. It’s a blue building, with more neon. Its doors are facing Winthrop Street, within our parking lot. It contains a box office, concession stand, bathrooms, and Theatres 2, 3, 4, and 5. It also contains the entrance to The Little Café, with food, wine and beer, and live music.
The doors to each building are approximately 450 feet from each other (approx. a 2-minute walk).
How do I know which auditorium / building a movie will be shown in?
To see which theatre any particular screening will be playing in, see the film/event’s specific ticketing page, or the ticketing overview page. On our website, showtimes are in Little Theatre 2-5 unless specifically stated as being in Little Theatre 1.
When you arrive, there are also signs on the doors of each building.
Other Questions About Films and Showtimes
Will ____ film still be playing next week?
Each Monday, we assess our current lineup, publish showtimes, and put tickets on sale for the following Fri-Thu. Films are extended based on numerous factors including attendance, distributor agreements, community feedback, and what films we have scheduled to open each week. Showtimes are usually posted by Tuesday afternoon.
At what age am I eligible for the senior discount?
We offer discounted tickets and certain membership levels to those 62+.
The film I want to see says it’s SOLD OUT. Can I still get tickets?
The Little has general admission seating in all auditoriums, and sells the same number of tickets as there are seats available — we do not oversell the seats. There is a possibility a limited number of tickets could become available at the door, due to last-minute refunds. We do not offer an online, advance “waiting list.” Feel free to ask at the box office, on the day of the screening, if any tickets have become available. A “rush line” or “waiting list” at the door is at the discretion of theatre staff at each screening. Please understand that different screenings/events have different factors, so please be respectful and adhere to any directions from Little Theatre staff. Avoid disappointment and get your tickets in advance!
When films have introductions or post-screening discussions, is there an extra cost?
Introductions and discussions are included in the cost of your movie ticket.
How many trailers do you show before a movie? Do screenings start on time?
- The Little presents about 8-12 minutes of trailers — and commercials from our sponsors — before each feature. These begin at the posted start time for each screening. (Consider becoming an advertiser!)
- Generally, screenings do start on time. But during exceptionally busy events, we may delay a screening start time up to 15 minutes, in order to get the majority of the audience into the theater before the start of the feature, to provide the best possible screening experience for as many audience members as possible. We thank you for your patience and flexibility!
When a film is labeled “Not Rated” does that mean it’s appropriate for All Ages?
Not necessarily, and generally no — the majority of films we screen are not appropriate for children. “Not Rated” means the film has not been submitted to the MPA (Motion Picture Association) for a rating, or it has been submitted but has not yet received a rating. The Little does not provide content warnings for individual films. We recommend audience members check IMDb’s “Parents Guide” for information on individual films, if available. (i.e. here’s the “Parents Guide” page for David Fincher’s “Seven”)

Can I use The Little’s name, or an image of the building, for my art?
We love community members being so passionate about The Little that you want to include us in your projects, music, books, film, or art. But we also want to protect the history and integrity of our brand, as well as ensure our likeness, name, and organization are not depicted in a way that goes against our mission statement and values.
