LIVE PERFORMANCE • THE LITTLE CAFE
Tangled Strings: Music for Guitar and Harp :: Friday, Aug. 16
Rochester-based guitarist Django Klumpp is an experienced performer and instructor on the classical guitar, having done a range of performances from solo recitals, to being accompanied by symphony orchestras, to eclectic chamber music showcases here at The Little Theater Cafe. Despite having an expertise in classical guitar, Django’s incorporates his broad musical interest into every performance and musical endeavor, drawing inspiration from the genres of rock, pop, jazz, funk, metal, and more.
Sunshine is a harpist and Chinese zither player based in Rochester, NY. A frequent performer at the Little Theatre Cafe, she plucks an eclectic range of genres on her two too-many-stringed instruments: classical, contemporary, folk, pop, rock, Irish/Celtic, traditional Chinese, improvisations, and original compositions.
Both Sunshine and Django, having met as peers at Eastman School of Music, have sought to pursue more chamber music endeavors and thus have formed a harp and guitar duo as of 2022. Together, they plan on sharing many more performance experiences in order to spread both the joyous and beautiful sound of the harp and guitar, and to highlight the lesser-known composers and works of music for the instrument combo.
