Join us for this feature-length celebration of classic Looney Tunes cartoons, followed by a live, in-person Q&A with Dan Sendker, author of the new book “Dance of the Comedians: 75 Years of the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote.”
About the Book
In 1949, director Chuck Jones and writer Mike Maltese made history with “Fast and Furry-ous,” the first Looney Tunes cartoon starring the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote. 75 years later, these beloved characters have become bonafide cultural icons. Dance of the Comedians covers the entire history of the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote, tracing their long career in cartoons, comic books, films, television shows, video games, and more. Author Dan Sendker leaves no stone (or giant boulder) unturned as he examines just what makes these characters so famous, and why they still endure today.
About the Author
Born and raised in nearby Buffalo, Dan has lived in Rochester since 2021. He has spent his whole life watching, collecting, and studying theatrical shorts from the Golden Age of American Animation (1920s-1960s). Before he turned 18, he owned every classic Warner Bros. cartoon ever made. Today, Dan’s animation collection numbers in the thousands, comprising nearly the entire output of cartoons by Disney, MGM, Fleischer Studios, Famous Studios, Ub Iwerks, and UPA. He is beyond excited and grateful to launch Dance of the Comedians at The Little Theatre.
