In this hilarious new satire, novelist Monk (Jeffrey Wright) is fed up with the publishing establishment that profits from Black entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes. To prove his point, he uses a pen name to write an outlandish Black book of his own. But when it becomes a success, it propels him to the heart of the hypocrisy and madness that he claims to disdain.
