LIVE PERFORMANCE • THE LITTLE CAFE

Ensemble Aztlan was founded 20 years ago with the aim of investigating and disseminating popular art and Mexican traditions.

We have represented Mexico in traditional art festivals of CIOFF, IOV, THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CULTURAL EXCHANGE, institutions with formal relations and official recognition from UNESCO, whose main goal is the preservation of intangible cultural heritage. The countries visited are: France, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain, Ireland, and  Cuba.

Our repertory consists of different styles and rhythms of Mexican music like huapango huasteco, sones, chilenas, corridos and jarabes. 

Ensemble Aztlan is integrated for 6 musicians that play many instruments such as a guitar, bihuela, guitarron, jarana, trumpet, violin, cajon, bass, saxophone, dunkey jaw, tambourine, etc.
