In addition to a hit parade of regularly-scheduled films, we hold special series and screenings every month of the year. These series often present sharp educational elements through documentaries, talkbacks with filmmakers and stars, café meet and greets, or all of the above. These series help us include members of the community who might otherwise miss out.

One Take: Stories through the Lens is a monthly Tuesday night documentary series held at the Little, hosted by Linda Moroney. The series presents a unique mix of documentaries—ranging from film festival favorites to unheralded gems—followed by talkback discussions. The films are held at 7pm one Tuesday a month, unless otherwise noted. Tickets are $8

Saturday Night Rewind is a monthly 35mm film screening of genre flicks from the Little Theatre and Fright-Rags.

The Little Theatre is proud to announce The Black Cinema Series, presented in partnership with the Rochester Association of Black Journalists (RABJ).  The series celebrates both documentary and narrative expressions in black cinema with a curated film choice every month. To complement each film, The Little will host discussions led by RABJ members, local experts, community leaders, and filmmakers after each series screening.

The Little Concert Series is made possible with support from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), along  with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.

National Theatre Live launched in June 2009 with a broadcast of the National Theatre production of Phèdre with Helen Mirren. We've since broadcast more than twenty other productions live from the National Theatre, and on occasion other theatres in the UK. Since 2010 National Theatre Live has been proudly supported by Aviva.

The Little begins another season of Bolshoi Ballet productions in 2016-17. These screenings are full ballets from the world-class Bolshoi Theatre, recorded and played to audiences as if they were in the best seats of the historic Russian icon.

Tickets for these special presentations are $20 general admission and $18 for members, seniors, and students.

Enjoy the opera at The Little! Here is the 2017-18 Royal Opera House lineup:

Selected by our classical music hosts Julia Figueras, Brenda Tremblay and Mona Seghatoleslami, each film chosen exemplifies the power of music in a non-traditional narrative. Tickets are $6.
