About the Film:

As part of the Indie Lens Pop-Up Series WXXI is pleased to present Real Boy– by Shaleece Haas on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the Little Theatre.

Real Boy is the coming-of-age story of Bennett, a trans teenager with dreams of musical stardom. During the first two years of his gender transition, as Bennett works to repair a strained relationship with his family, he is taken under the wing of his friend and musical hero, celebrated trans folk singer Joe Stevens.

Following the screening Bennett and Joe will be doing a Q&A and will also perform a couple of tunes.

WXXI partnered with the Gay Alliance and ImageOut to organize this free screening.
