Join WXXI for Classical 91.5 Presents, a series that spotlights classical music connections in film.

Classical 91.5 presents...Breaking Away, on Saturday April 7th at 3pm at The Little Theatre. With live music in the cafe at 2 p.m. and a panel discussion after the film. If you ride your bicycle to the theater, show your helmet at the box office and get $1 off any size Little Popcorn.

Breaking Away is a beloved classic that tells the story of biking and coming of age in a midwestern small town. The main character's obsession with the Italian cycling team is represented in the soundtrack with music by Giacchino Rossini and Felix Mendelssohn's "Italian Symphony." Breaking Away won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay and a Golden Globe for Best Film (Comedy or Musical), and it has inspired generations of cyclists.
