Based on real events, the film is inspired by Polish writer Arkady Fiedler’s bestselling book and tells the story of the legendary 303 Squadron of Polish pilots who fought in the Battle of Britain during the Second World War.

From its formation in August 1940, the squadron was involved in numerous operations over Britain and mainland Europe. Equipped with the almost-obsolete Hurricane, they fought with a tenacity and skill that earned them the admiration of the whole British nation. The 303 Squadron shot three times more Luftwaffe planes than any other allied squadron.
