Hanna PK, with special guests Gian Carlo Cervone and Danny Ziemann

Pianist and singer Hanna PK has been making a splash in and around Rochester NY! She’s never attended a music school, but her classroom has been multiple juke joints. There, she’s been studying and playing with some of the best blues musicians in town including the John Cole Blues Band, Joe Beard, Big Mike and the Motivators and Genesee Johnny to name a few. The way she locks down the groove, from her hands on the keys to her tapping toe, instantly moves you. And her sweet and soulful voice weaves in and out of all kinds of emotions making you smile and laugh — even breaking your heart at times.

Pianist Gian Carlo Cervone has been performing publicly in the Rochester area for nearly 40 years - his involvement with jazz music and performances began when he was a teenager. His bluesy, straight-ahead piano style reflects an interest in the heritage of jazz going back to the early masters of the 20’s as well as the inspiration of classic performers and composers of the 40's and 50's, with a little avante-garde thrown in for good measure. His repertoire includes well- and lesser-known standards, jazz themes by the likes of Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk, and his own compositions and improvisations. In addition to jazz and blues, he enjoys performing music from the Gospel tradition. Gian Carlo was accompanist and music director for Janet Beaman for nearly 20 years, and may currently be heard playing at diverse venues in New York State with his Trio, The John Cole Blues Band, Joe Beard and The Blues Union, Big Mike and The Motivators, and other groups. In past years, he performed with his own groups, The Jazz Workshop, and The 52nd Street Jazz Quintet, as well as with The Jazz Rescue Unit, Dan Schmitt and The Shadows, The Rochester Blues Review, and The White Hots, and has participated in numerous radio broadcasts and recording sessions.
