Ad Hoc Music

Saturday April 26th, 2-4pm in the Little Cafe

Local chamber ensemble Ad Hoc Music will present a concert at the Little Theatre Cafe on Saturday, April 26 from 2:00-4:00 PM. This “chalkboard” concert is an informal opportunity for musicians and audience members to experience chamber music in a casual setting. Repertoire and musicians are subject to change, but selections may include Beethoven's
Sonata No. 1 for Violin, Excerpts from Rossini's The Barber of Seville arranged for Bassoon Duet, and Karel Husa's Three Studies for Solo Clarinet. Ad Hoc Music is comprised of Eastman School of Music students and professional musicians from the Greater Rochester area. The concert is free and open to the public.

The concept of Chalkboard Concerts arose as a way to bring high-quality classical music to audiences that might not normally have the ability or desire to attend a full-length concert. The concert repertoire and performers are presented in a “bistro menu” format, allowing a parallel to be drawn to a fine restaurant – Ad Hoc Music strives to create a memorable aural experience through selecting the finest local musicians and repertoire.

Audience members are encouraged to interact with the musicians and each other during the performance, as well as to come and go as they please.

This performance is free to the public!
The Little Cafe requests a $5 minimum per table spent at the Cafe when enjoying music.
