Decked out in fake blood and full zombie attire, Shawn and Lisa Gleason were married at The Little on Oct. 26, 2012. The couple has returned to The Little every year on, or around, that date (not always dressed as zombies) to have a celebratory meal in the café. It was this Oct. 26 that I interviewed them for the first installment of our Humans of The Little segment.
The concept of Humans of The Little is simple: It's a way to highlight the people who make The Little great. That includes members, staff, casual movie-goers, and well, anyone who comes into the theaters or café. If you're reading this, you are a Human of The Little! And I'd love to highlight you in this segment (and yes, the name was inspired by the ultra-popular Humans of New York). Send nominations my way, please (nominating yourself is very much acceptable). You can check out Shawn and Lisa's full story later this month. It will be posted to thelittle.org, as well as on Facebook and Twitter.
Movies and a Microphone, episode four
Our latest Little podcast, Movies and a Microphone, was posted last week, and on it, I posed an interesting question to my guest Ben Scrivens, of Fright-Rags: What is the most frightened you've been in your life? It's an interesting question, I feel, and answers to it can spark the imagination enough to create the horror tales we love.
If you're willing to share, I'd love to hear your scariest moment. Sometimes we can look back at laugh at them, while other times, they remain terrifying.
You can listen to the full podcast here. We also talk about horror films, our best Halloween costumes, and our least favorite types of candy. We also preview some great upcoming events The Little is hosting.
Member Movie Night
More than 700 people rocked The Little during our most recent Member Movie Night in July. We're hoping for an even bigger turnout for the Monday, Nov. 2 Event! As always, members - along with a guest - can see movies free this day. All you need to do is show your current membership card - there is no need to RSVP. The doors open at 5, and the movie listings are below and at thelittle.org.
