Awards season is upon us, and new movies are coming! I've said it often, and I'll say it plenty more times, but our area has the best movie fans. You're smart, passionate, and knowledgeable when it comes to the world of cinema. That's why I want to thank you for your patience over the past few weeks. With wonderful film festivals, along with the on-going work in theater 1, we unfortunately didn't have room for a lot of new movies. Certainly not ideal for anyone, but we're back on track this week with three films that have a good chance of ending up on your "best of 2019" list.
South Korea's dark comedy/thriller Parasite is one that's best not to know too much about the plot beforehand (true for most films, but especially pertinent here). What you should know: It's from the masterful Bong Joon Ho (The Host, Snowpiercer), and it's an Oscar favorite.
Powerhouse director Pedro Almodóvar (All About My Mother, Volver) is back with Pain and Glory. A movie about a filmmaker -- perfect for your friendly neighborhood art house. Screening ONLY at The Little!
Keeping secrets, are ye? Once The Lighthouse spills its beans, you won't be the same. Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson crush the whole acting thing (and the drunken dancing thing)!
Bonus: Jojo Rabbit continues this week. See you at The Little!
