A showcase of opera from local artists with Finger Lakes Opera Young Artists Program. Performing 4/22/24:
Daniela Sosa, soprano
Hailing from Miami Florida, American soprano Daniela Sosa is a Master of Music candidate at the Eastman School of Music. Some of her recent operatic appearances include L’enfant in L’enfant et les sortilèges, the title role in Suor Angelica, Rose Maurrant in Street Scene, and Second Witch in Dido and Aeneas.
Jack O’Leary, bass-baritone
Jack O’Leary is a bass-baritone in his senior year at the Eastman School of Music studying vocal performance with Kiera Duffy. With Eastman Opera Theatre, Jack has performed as the Jailer in Dialogues des Carmelites, Capitán in Florencia en el Amazonas, the Nurse in Lear on the 2nd Floor, and Cinderella’s Father in Into the Woods. This past summer he attended the Chautauqua Opera Conservatory where he performed as the Notary in Gianni Schicchi and Russell Paxton/the Ringmaster in Lady in the Dark. Next year, Jack will return home to Philadelphia to teach voice lessons while he auditions for graduate schools.
Andrew Miller
Andrew Miller, 22, a senior at Eastman School of Music, studies under Anthony Dean Griffey. He is gearing up for spring opera scenes, tackling scenes from The Pearl Fishers and L’Élisir d’Amore. He has covered roles in Dialogues des Carmélites, and Florencia en el Amazonas. Other than opera, Andrew has been in the Eastman Bach Cantata Series and has participated in masterclasses with Patricia Caicedo and Joshua Conyers. Andrew’s next adventure is joining the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Engineer.
Finn Bucci
Finn Bucci is graduating from Eastman this year as a student in the studio of Professor Anthony Dean Griffey. While at Eastman, he has sung roles with Eastman Opera Theatre in Dialogues des Carmélites and scenes from Rigoletto and La Bohème.
