85 Years of Film Series
In autumn of 1929, a modest movie cinema opened its doors on East Avenue. At that time, George Eastman lived a few blocks away and Herbert Hoover lived in the White House. Red Wing Stadium had been open for about five months and Prohibition was still in effect. 85 years later, The Little is still here, we’re still growing, and we’re ready to celebrate.
After giving it some thought, we decided a great way to celebrate 85 years of independent film was to have a six-day event during which we screen a film from every decade The Little’s been around. Earlier this year, we polled patrons online and on paper about what movies they would like to see. They spoke out, and we’re delivering.
We have a schedule of cinematic giants (see below for schedule), ranging from “Rules of the Game” from the 1930s to “Mulholland Drive” from the early 2000s.
The celebration starts Friday, August 8 and will continue to Wednesday, August 13.
Tickets go on sale Monday August 4th!
