Morten Lauridsen who composed Lux AeturnaO Magnum Mysterium, Nocturnes (Sa Nuit D'Ete, Soneto de la Noche, and Sure On This Shining Night), Dirait-on and Madrigali​ is said to be "the only American composer who can be called a mystic." Shining Night provides a look into the life of one of the greatest choral composers of the United States, who spends his summers on a remote island.
