About the story:
Since its debut in 2010, Anthony Del Col & Conor McCreery’s Kill Shakespeare has garnered the attention of critics and fans alike.  Praised for its creativity and complexity, this illustrated reimagining of Shakespeare’s most memorable characters on a quest to kill-or save-their creator has found a rabid fan following.

About the show:
Kill Shakespeare: the live stage reading provides a unique theatrical experience.  The story of the original series comes to life as eight local thespians take on the role of the characters.  As hundreds of images from the graphic novel fill the screen, all the dialogue, sound effects, and music are performed live.

In 2011, Kill Shakespeare: the live stage reading made its debut.  Shortly thereafter, it began making the rounds at comic conventions around the world.  At that same time, however, it was performed here in Rochester, NY by a group of Wilson Magnet High School students in Dream/Visualize/Create.  The show has three performances at the MuCCC on Atlantic Avenue.  Plans began almost immediately to bring it to ‘the big screen” at a local movie theater.  This time around, a handful of those original performers are joined by some of Rochester’s most talented (and most Shakespearean) actors to bring the story to life.

DVC is excited to have co-creator Conor McCreery in attendance for a talkback and meet-and-greet opportunity.  Come support what is sure to be a unique experience for the Rochester community!

About DVC:
Dream/Visualize/Create, a collection of students and graduates of Wilson Magnet High School’s drama club and local artists, is celebrating its 14thyear of bringing thought-provoking, challenging productions to audiences.  In keeping with the club’s mission to perform meaningful, socially-conscious theatre, DVC has performed shows such as Stop Kiss, The Shadow Box, No Exit, and a double bill of The Trojan Women and Necessary Targets, and club-developed original projects such as Something to Believe In, Reinvented: A Dracula-Inspired Goth Rock Musical and JUNK: the Musical.  Last summer, DVC debuted More Than This, an original musical incorporating the songs of NYC singer/songwriter Vanessa Carlton.
