Margaret Explosion

Margaret Explosion

The aptly named Margaret Explosion have music that's perfect for blasting (and dancing to). The group is familiar with the Little Cafe stage, and now they'll be supporting their most recent album "Disappear". They started as the house band at the Bug Jar in Rochester, and have since evolved into a completely improvisational band.

Jack Garner of the Democrat and Chronicle says: "One of the most original and unusual bands in Rochester; a five-piece ensemble exploring all sorts of musical dimensions linked to free jazz, Third World melodies, exotic instrumentation and a spacey, enveloping sort of music. The Explosion plays with a single-minded purpose and organic oneness that's most impressive."

Begun as the house band at the Bug Jar in Rochester, N.Y., Margaret Explosion has evolved into a band playing spacy, completely improvisational jazz.
