Join Classical 91.5 host Brenda Tremblay for a screening of this 1984 Oscar winner for Best Picture.
WXXI is pleased to host its first Classical 91.5 Film Series at The Little Theatre. Three films are featured in the series, with Amadeus being the final screening on Saturday, August 17 at 1 p.m. at the Little Theatre. Classical 91.5 morning host Brenda Tremblay will introduce the film, which will be followed by a panel discussion with music and movie specialists.
Winner of eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Actor and Director, playwright Peter Shaffer's engrossing story of genius, jealousy, and passion stars Tom Hulce as the gifted but childish prodigy Mozart and F. Murray Abraham as bitter rival Salieri. Brilliant musical sequences are set against the opulence of 18th-century Vienna; Milos Forman directs.

About the Film:
The at-once hilarious and tragic story of Mozart, as told by his admirer, rival and assassin. If ever there was a film with wide comic and cultural appeal, a vehicle for carrying classical music to every ear, it is Amadeus.
