John Palocy Trio
LIVE PERFORMANCE

John Palocy Trio

Sunday, October 24, 2021

Location: The Little Cafe

The trio (Keys, drums, and upright bass) uses reimagined Beatles tunes, standards and familiar jazz heads as the basis for exciting and communicative jazz. We love the interplay and dynamic of the trio – We are having fun, and we want you to have a fun listening experience.

John Palocy: “Plays well with others” – I have been a professional musician and educator in Rochester for several decades in duos, trio, Latin quintet, big bands, dance bands and also with choirs and vocal soloists – Two new playing friends are with me in 2021. I am excited by the jazz we are making.

Ryan Muchard (drummer): I have been playing the drum kit for almost two decades. I’ve studied various styles of percussion from classical to latin to jazz. I enjoy attending casual jam sessions, recording sessions and the occasional live performance. I am a mechanical engineer and financial professional- but I always find my way back to music -my passion.

Doug Fien (acoustic bass): “Never saw an electric bass or heard jazz till age 14. Immediately fell in love with big band and standards when I had the good fortune of having George Giroux (house pianist at Top of the Plaza in Rochester), as a high school band director. He would warm up the concert band by playing blues! I would be walkin the changes with George at piano while 75 horns all improvised at the same time! Have enjoyed playing on and off for 40 years in jazz, wedding, progressive rock and show bands in the Rochester area.

I am super stoked to be back to my biggings- playing bass in a piano trio with John and Ryan.

Join us in our love affair with jazz at the Little Café on September and October.
